Butler center Liz Stratman to transfer to Indiana

Facing significant losses in its 2014-15 frontcourt, Indiana filled a big hole on Saturday.

According to her former AAU coach, 6-foot-2 Butler center Liz Stratman plans to transfer to Indiana. Stratman, the 2013-14 Big East Defensive Player of the Year, would be immediately eligible as a graduate student at IU.

She averaged 13.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game en route to an All-Big East Honorable Mention selection this season for the Bulldogs. Stratman started 28 of the 29 games she played, finishing the season with 15 points and 12 rebounds vs. South Dakota State in the opening round of the WNIT.

A New Palestine native, Stratman began her career at Xavier before transferring to Butler midway through her freshman year.

  1. A very nice fit with our returning players and the new recruits! Well done Coach Miller!

  2. More good news for the Hoosiers. This will help us tremendously next year where we will be the weakest! We lost some really nice size due to graduation this year. Liz, along with Jenn Anderson and red shirt junior Claire Jakubicek will help our inside play considerably. Coach Miller has done another nice job of bringing in talent in order to upgrade our program. Can’t wait for next year to start! Go Hoosiers!!

  3. I literally got a chill reading this article. Coach Miller added a triple threat in this young lady. Senior leadership, front court scoring and an excellent defender. I can’t wait to road trip for a few games this fall. Go Hoosiers!
