BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana senior pitcher Joey DeNato had another dominant performance to earn Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors as announced by the conference on Monday. It is DeNato’s fourth weekly conference award of his career and his third this season (Feb. 18, April 21).

The southpaw pitched seven shutout innings and allowed just five hits to Purdue on Friday, May 2, to earn his 10th win of the season.  He struck out seven Boilermakers and picked off two base runners to bring his season total of pickoffs to 11.

The San Diego, Calif., native leads a Hoosier pitching staff that has the best ERA in the Big Ten at 2.39, which also ranks 13th-best nationally.

Indiana holds a three-game lead in the Big Ten regular season standings with six conference games remaining.  Up next for the Hoosiers is a road series at Penn State this weekend May 9-11 (6:30 p.m., 2 p.m., 1 p.m).
