Houston heading to Patriots; Ewald participating in Bears Mini-Camp

Indiana tailback Stephen Houston confirmed by text message earlier today that he will join the New England Patriots, but said he hadn’t yet signed an undrafted free agent contract. IU kicker Mitch Ewald said via text that, like teammate Greg Heban, he will be participating in Chicago Bears rookie mini-camp this weekend in hopes of landing a free agent contract.

Houston finished his career tied for sixth on Indiana’s all-time list with 29 total touchdowns, including 25 rushing. Ewald ends his career as Indiana’s all-time leader in field goals, field goal percentage and extra points. He’s also second among all IU players in total scoring.
