Indiana beats Penn State 8-1, takes series

Indiana left fielder Kyle Schwarber and first baseman Sam Travis both homered and third baseman Dustin DeMuth went 3-for-4 with two runs and a pair of RBI to lead the Hoosiers to an 8-1 win over Penn State in the second game of the series on Saturday at Lubrano Park.

The No. 9 Hoosiers improved to 34-12 and 18-2 in the Big Ten. They have won seven straight and 22 of their last 24 games.

IU right-hander Christian Morris scattered six hits and allowed just one run in seven innings. Travis also doubled and drove in two runs. Catcher Brad Hartong also had two hits and two RBI.
