Indiana hosting Pitt on Dec. 2

The Indiana men’s basketball team will host Pittsburgh in the 16th annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge presented by DICK’s Sporting Goods on Tuesday, December 2 in Assembly Hall.  The 14-game pairings were announced ESPN today.  This will be just the third home game for the Hoosiers in this event over the last seven years.

Next year, the Hoosiers are currently scheduled to play Pittsburgh and SMU at home and Butler at the Crossroads Classic in Indianapolis and Louisville in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York.  In addition, Hoosier fans will get to see Purdue, Iowa, Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, Maryland, Rutgers, Minnesota and Penn State in Bloomington during the Big Ten season.

This will be the ninth meeting with the Panthers and the first in Bloomington since 1939.  The series is tied 4-4 and the programs last met in the 2009 Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York with the Hoosiers coming away with a 74-64 win.  Both the Panthers and Hoosiers were ranked among the top 50 programs heading into next season according to

All 14 Big Ten teams and 14 of the 15 ACC teams will participate in the 2014 Challenge.
