Michigan eliminates Iowa with 7-1 win

Michigan shortstop Travis Maezes went 3-for-5 with two triples and two RBI and left fielder Carmen Benedetti hit a two-run home run to lead Michigan to a 7-1 win over Iowa, eliminating the Hawkeyes from the Big Ten Tournament at TD Ameritrade Park.

The Wolverines advance to play Nebraska at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Pitcher Evan Hill struck out eight batters in 7 2/3 innings. Iowa scored it’s only run on a double steal on an astounding slide by shortstop Jake Yacinich.
