  1. More cupcakes this year for sure, but be careful: Grand Canyon is surprisingly deep. Flow will be determined by how much they can stop Rivers, the talented guard.

I expect Crean and team to scale down somewhat. Gameplan must be to avoid Cliff (can’t remember his last name), keeping game plan simple and staying on steady path. If they bottom out completely and lose this game, it’s a long long climb back up. Hydration will be key; Grand Canyon can bring the heat, especially around the perimeter.

  2. Thanks H! Just trying to emulate the maestro, although you could have taken it another 2-3 paragraphs. I ain’t got that kinda game.

  3. When you’re playing Grand Canyon, you can actually afford to get off to a rocky start. Trailing behind early doesn’t necessarily mean our asses can’t deliver when the game gets edgy…It’s far better than leading the entire way and then having Cliff go off on us during crunch time. …I’m confident that Crean will not confuse patience with a bolder game strategy…..Splat!

    Sorry, couldn’t resist.

  4. Remember Joe from the TV series “Facts of Life”…? I always had a crush on Joe. Very random. Explanation: There was one of those constantly changing ads at the top of this Scoop page featuring NFL gear geared to the female buyer…The model reminded me of Joe from Facts….She grew up quite nicely.

  5. Ha! yeah, I hear you about Joe… we must have similar tastes in that category.

Here’s to not letting Cliff go off!

  6. Did a little research…If we can stop Cliff from making his signature “step-back” move, the ‘Lopes will fall quickly. But I guess you just never know…Grand Canyon could end up being a descent game.

This was fun…Sure beats attempting to dissect an entire football season on one game against Bowling Green. But, with all the sincerity I can muster, I’m afraid it’s going to be another very long year for Hoosier Football. I watched the highlights over on YouTube and our defense moves and hits like they have extra weights on their ankles. They just doesn’t have the level of quickness and explosive hitting that we’re going to face against the BIG foes to come. I’m afraid, per usual, we’ll be left feeling like basketball season can’t come quick enough(And for reasons I’m sure you’re too tired of hearing, that familiar eager hope and anticipation has even been tempered; along with a polarization of emotions that leave me challenged to fully embrace something I thought would always be unwavering faith and pride).

    Kate Beckinsale…? Skylar Grey(kudos to Price)…?
