Indiana nets first 2015 verbal from Ohio forward Kym Royster

Indiana picked up its first verbal commitment for the 2015 class Tuesday from Ohio forward Kym Royster, according to All-Star Girls Report’s Bret McCormick.

Royster, a 6-foot-2 forward from Newark High School in Newark, Ohio, averaged 20 points per game and was an Associated Press All-Ohio second team selection this past season.

She is Indiana’s first 2015 recruit, filling the void left by 6-foot-3 Bedford North Lawrence center Jenna Allen, who decommitted from IU following former coach Curt Miller’s abrupt resignation in July. Allen later committed to Michigan State.

  1. After watching the video, you have to be impressed with the way she runs the floor constantly beating the other team down for easy lob passes. Would have liked to see some action of her defensively. Her footwork in around the basket seems to be pretty advanced. This is what we need, size, along with being a great athelete, looks like we have both with her. Keep it up coach, recruiting is the key!! Go Hoosiers!!

  2. Wow… quick, lithe, rangy, unselfish, with post moves already as just a junior. The link we’ve been missing.
