Spriggs misses first game of his career

Jason Spriggs dressed and went through pregame drills, but did not play in Indiana’s 49-24 win over North Texas on Saturday.

Spriggs suffered a knee sprain at the end of last week’s loss to Maryland and watched his consecutive games played streak end at 28.

Sprigg’s absence was part of a reshuffled offensive line for Indiana, which started Ralston Evans at left tackle, Jacob Bailey at left guard and Dimitric Camiel at right tackle.

North Texas, which entered play with a national-best 19 sacks, did not get a single sack on Saturday, while making only three stops behind the line.

“He was clear to go,” IU coach Kevin Wilson said of Spriggs. “As a matter of fact, Ralston needed a blow. Where the score was, he said ‘Do you want to go with Spriggs, or the other guys?’ I said, ‘Go with the other guys,’ because of where the score was 42-whatever. So he could have played.”

  1. Did Harris get hurt on his 1 reception? He acted funny when he got up after the tackle. If that was the case Roundtree played well but he is near snakebit as he never seems to be in a good position catching the pass so he can show off his wheels. Still a good day for him. I wonder if Johns and Wilson are losing confidence in Damon Graham as I am?
