Indiana listed among Lunardi’s first four out #iubb

It’s never too early to turn it over to ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi.

Well, I mean, it is.

But that’s not the point.

Lunardi released his first projections of the season this week, slotting Indiana with Maryland, St. John’s and Tulsa as the first four teams to be left out of the NCAA Tournament’s 68-team field.

Lunardi has Wisconsin, Arizona, Kentucky and Duke as No. 1 seeds. He also includes 13 teams on Indiana’s schedule in the field — Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Louisville, Texas Southern, Ohio State, Michigan, Iowa, Georgetown, SMU, Pittsburgh and Illinois.

Notre Dame, LSU, BYU and Providence are listed as Lunardi’s last four in.

  1. Ahh, what does Lunardi know? This IU team is undefeated and looks to stay that way. God, I love this time of year.

  2. Cant argue with Lunardi’s opinion at this point. Not much has happened since last season to inspire confidence in this team. All the off season drug and alcohol issues among the so called team leaders suggests that they haven’t figured out that team chemistry is not a synonym for “party”. Right now I think they have a lot more to be concerned about than an NCAA bid.

  3. Seems this guy is counting on indiana to fail; from where I’m sitting he’s putting the cart b4 the horse the season ain’t started yet an he’s already saying iu won’t make the big dance hope someone told crean an the hoosiers this; Cuz myself I think they will

  4. Who gives a crap…? This type of garbage never has any shelf life….Predictions grow mold faster than sourdough bread in the cupboard(the no preservatives variety).. These young Hoosiers are now playing for a bigger purpose….I think the events surrounding Devin Davis put things in perspective….Don’t underestimate the power of emotion and a will to do something special for a good kid. Don ‘t underestimate how those emotions will turn selfishness into brotherhood….Let’s make this bold soothsayer of poppycock eat his horrific words on the plate of his horrific toupee……

This group is far better than last year’s team…Blackmon is probably have the best guard in the country.

I’m thinking a Top-20 ranking by mid December….We’ll breeze into the tournament.

Best to Devin….Hope you’re on the road to recovery.

  5. Can we win on the road? I don’t think so! (We’re going to get even more of a homer ride at whatever Assembly Hall is called now this year!!!!)

Top 20 by Mid December MIGHT be right as how can we lose at home? But once we start playing Division I teams we’ll sink like a rock.

NIT will be great IF we can get into it.

  6. IU BB win and lose record for 2014-2015

    1-0, 2-0, 2-1, 3-1, 4-1, 5-1, 6-1, 7-1, 7-2, 8-2, everything going ok, not great (hovering around top 25 ranking) 8-3, 9-3, 9-4, 9-5, 9-6, 9-7, 10-7, 10-8, 10-9, 10-10, 10-11, 11-11, 11-12, 11-13, 11-14, 12-14, 12-15, 13-15, 14-15, 15-15, 15-16 Regular Season Record: 15 Wins and 16 Loses

  7. I can see how Joe Lunardi could have us as one of the first four out, especially with our 0-0 record and 0-0 Big Ten mark and 0-0 record against Top 25 teams.

  8. Harvard, speaking of toupee…did you see the recent article on Gene Keady where he “came out” about his comb-over? Priceless. The most surprising thing about it was that he needed hair extensions to keep that thing going. Imagine that, hair extensions coming out of your side-hair to comb over your bald crown. Sort of lurid, almost. And to his credit, he admitted that at the time he thought it was sexy.

    Hope you are well.

  9. Seahawk-

Hardly need to read the piece in the Indy Star…I got a great laugh simply reading your synopsis… You always have the magic words to get me laughing again…Short on time this morning, but I’ll come back tonight to read the piece.

Hope you are finding happiness and health as well….Good to see your name popping up this morning. I’ve had some tough times of late and I needed the laugh…and the kindness of an old friend.

    Take care,
    Harvard.

  10. really harv? blackmon the best guard in the country and we will win a lot of big ten road games? hell, blackmon isn’t even the best guard on his team. guess i should just try embracing the optimism of a new season. hard to do when preacher tom still has no clue against the 2-3.

  11. Blackmon is the best guard in the country… he has the outside shooting of HfH, the Bball IQ of coachv, the gumption of HC, the toughness of oIUg, the calmness under pressure of Chet, the wisdom of TT, and the leadership qualities of Double Down… How could there be a better guard?
