Indiana releases statement from Emmitt Holt

Indiana released the following statement from freshman forward Emmitt Holt on Monday night. Holt has been suspended four games for his role in Saturday’s accident with teammate Devin Davis:

“Devin is not only a teammate but a great friend and it pains me to know that I have caused him harm. I sincerely regret my actions and I understand that I must be held accountable to the high standards that Coach Crean and IU have set for all of us. I want to apologize to Coach, to my teammates and to the entire IU community for not living up to the expectations that this program and university deserve. I will work hard in the coming days, weeks and months to become a better man and teammate.”

  1. Back when Knight was coaching I would have give anything to play basketball at IU. Walking into Assembly Hall and looking up at those banners and feeling the history and tradition is overwhelming. These kids on this team dosent know how lucky they are to where that INDIANA across there chest. Its all about respect and they have lost my respect, now go out there and earn Hoosier Nations respect.

  2. well steve, you would never have qualified academically so i wouldn’t beat yourself up too badly about missing out on your dream.
