Yogi Ferrell named to Cousy Award watch list

Indiana’s Yogi Ferrell has been added to the watch list for the Bob Cousy Award, given annually to the nation’s top point guard.

This is the second consecutive season that Ferrell has been nominated for the award. Ferrell, a preseason All-Big Ten selection, is one of 35 candidates after leading the Hoosiers in assists over each of the last two seasons. He averaged 17.4 points per game as a sophomore, which ranked fourth in the Big Ten.

This watch list of candidates will be narrowed down to a final 20 in early February, then final five by early March. A winner will be presented the award on Championship Monday in Indianapolis at the Hall of Fame’s Class of 2015 Announcement and Press Conference.
