U.S. Basketball Writers Association names Troy Williams national player of the week #iubb

A big effort in a win over Butler continues to pay off for Troy Williams.

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association named the sophomore forward as its Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week after Williams recorded his first career double double in a win over then-No. 23 Butler. Williams tied a career high with 22 points, while adding a career-best 11 rebounds.

The award comes one day after Williams was recognized as co-Big Ten Player of the Week and ESPN.com’s national player of the week.

Over his past three games, Williams is averaging 14.7 points and 7.7 rebounds.

  1. Gents,

The Bride and I have the sleigh loaded and the horses harnessed and we will soon be off to Grandma’s house. We are both fortunate that both our Mothers are still alive and still living on their own in their own homes. They are part of a generation hard to replace. Yes, the extent of the whole holiday week spent with family and a few seldom seen friends. Of course the best is that our 3 Sons and 3 Daughters-in-law + 2 damn fine Grandkids will all be in the center of our celebration.
I do extend to all of you a Merry Christmas from our piece of Indiana, Sonshineville.

  2. To you as well. For the first time we will be traveling to Christmas at the kids’ locale. If only briefly, they are all in the same town (more or less) while we live across the country. My oldest son wants to buy our place in Asheville so it could become a place of generational festivities. The boys have good jobs while their little sister heads off to earn her doctorate in the fall.

Our first year living on the edge of the Weminuche Wilderness has been glorious.

Best wishes to all and Go Hoosiers.

To the rest of you egocentric blabbering conceits that have lost the humble spirit with your endless slathering upon your own tired front stoop and the supreme offspring blossomed from your boring almighty assertions blown out the roses of your back britches…..Bah! Humbug!

    EJ UPDATE; Happy Birthday EJ!!!!

  4. Wish all of you a safe and happy holidays.

Been a very strange few days… Wonderful to experience my 18 mo old son really aware of the holiday season for the first time. Loving being around so much family, and the joy of a decorated tree, lit up yard, wrapping paper and sometimes what’s underneath.

We also had our first real scare with a toy and how quickly things can go south in just a few seconds when your head is turned.

And Tuesday we learned a friend of ours was murdered. Some of you in the Chicago-area may have heard of the mysterious and senseless shooting of Nate Fox just 3 nights before Christmas.

So, I wish all of you a safe and happy holidays. I know it can be a stressful time, but I’m hoping you all can truly enjoy them and not take a moment of it for granted.

    Merry Christmas.
