Rahrig to play in East-West Shrine Game #iufb

Indiana offensive lineman Collin Rahrig will play in this year’s East-West Shrine Game, the Hoosiers’ football program announced Wednesday.

Rahrig, who shuffled between center and guard, was an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection in 2014 and earned a nomination for the Rimington Trophy and the Burlsworth Trophy. One of IU’s captains, the South Bend native started all 12 games and allowed only two sacks in a team-high 808 snaps, while finishing second among Hoosier linemen with 56 knockdowns.

Rahrig graduated in December with a degree in exercise science. He started 36 of the 40 games he played at Indiana, with 19 starts at center, 12 at left guard and five at right guard.

The 90th East-West Shrine Game will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. It will be televised on NFL Network beginning at 4 p.m.
