Indiana falls out of top 25 #iubb

Two straight losses, included a lopsided defeat at Purdue, were enough to knock Indiana out of the Associated Press top 25 on Monday.

The Hoosiers took a No. 22 ranking into the week, one day after falling at Ohio State. A 16-point loss to their in-state rival on Wednesday and a 72-64 win over Rutgers on Saturday followed for Indiana, which first appeared at No. 23 in the rankings on Jan. 19.

Indiana received 18 votes this week, good for fourth-most among teams just outside the top 25. SMU, a team that Indiana defeated in November, jumped back into the rankings at No. 23 after winning its eighth consecutive game on Saturday.

In the USA Today Coaches Poll, Indiana dropped four spots to No. 25.

IU plays twice this week, beginning with a trip to No. 5 Wisconsin on Tuesday at 7 p.m., followed by a home game with Michigan on Sunday afternoon.
