Live blog: It’s Signing Day at Indiana #iufb

The day has finally arrived. Indiana will unveil its 2015 football recruiting class today as the national letters of intent roll into Bloomington.

Continue to check in here all day, as we’ll update you on the latest news on who signed, who didn’t and who might surprise you. We’ll do it all while waiting on Kevin Wilson’s 2 p.m. press conference at Memorial Stadium. Scroll to the bottom of this post for the most recent updates.

In the meantime, you can check out Indiana’s list of verbals and brief bio capsules by clicking here.

8:15 a.m.: Tyler Green, a four-star safety formerly committed to Ohio State, is the first official recruit to have his letter received. This is a very good addition to the Indiana secondary, where Green could fit at either safety or corner.

8:17 a.m.: Avon defensive lineman Joe Belden is next. Belden might be the early leader for best dressed prospect in Indiana’s 2015 class:

8:20 a.m.: Jonathan Crawford, another safety, has faxed in his letter. Crawford had 19 Division I offers and is expected to be joined by cousin Donavan Hale.

8:21 a.m.: Devonte Williams, Indiana’s latest verbal commit, is now officially a Hoosier. This multi-purpose running back has the potential to be a very nice fit in Kevin Wilson’s offense as a versatile pass-catching threat. Williams originally committed to Marshall before flipping to Indiana on Monday.

8:24 a.m.: Isaac James, the Carmel quarterback who is expected to start as a receiver at Indiana, has his letter submitted. James is an extremely athletic prospect who also had offered from Missouri, Northwestern and Wisconsin.

8:26: a.m.: Nick Westbrook, a well-regarded receiver from Georgia, is a Hoosier. Westbrook caught 18 touchdowns and totaled almost 2,000 yards last fall before earning All-Florida First-Team honors for Class 8A.

8:30 a.m.: Mike Majette, an athlete from Virginia, is officially on the board. Majette is one of two players that IU coaches successfully flipped from Maryland. He’ll likely get early looks at both receiver and in the defensive backfield.

8:31 a.m.: Austin King, this class’s lone quarterback, is now officially bound for Bloomington. King is a three-star pro-style quarterback who will likely redshirt this season.

8:34 a.m.: Brandon Wilson, a former Virginia commit ranked as one of Florida’s top 100 prospects, is a Hoosier. Wilson could fit at a number of positions in Brian Knorr’s 3-4 defense. Look for him to be in the mix at bandit to start his career.

8:36 a.m.: Hunter Littlejohn, an offensive lineman from Ohio, is official. At 6-foot-3, 285 pounds, Littlejohn could play either guard or center at Indiana. He chose IU over Minnesota, Illinois and Purdue, among others.

8:38 a.m.: Simon Stepaniak, the first player to commit to this class, is now officially in the fold. Stepaniak can also play guard or center at 6-foot-4, 287 pounds. Also had offers from Penn State, Illinois and Minnesota, among others.

8:41 a.m.: Brandon Knight, an offensive lineman ranked as the No. 7 prospect in the state of Indiana, is headed to Bloomington. The Noblesville native is 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds. He could be targeted for left tackle.

8:42 a.m.: Austin Dorris is the latest player to officially join the class. Dorris is a 6-foot-5, 226-pound former quarterback who will move to tight end at IU.

8:45 a.m.: Jameel Cook, another former Maryland commit along with Mike Majette, is signed for Indiana. Cook will begin his IU career at safety. His father, Jameel Cook Sr., played fullback at Illinois in the late 1990s.

8:47: a.m.Omari Stringer is next. Stringer played safety in high school, but Indiana will try him at outside linebacker.

8:49 a.m.: Kevin Wilson received a letter from Andre Brown, an athlete from Georgia. Brown played quarterback in high school, but will likely get his first look at cornerback for Indiana.

8:53 a.m.: Reakwon Jones, a safety-turned-linebacker, is now a Hoosier. Jones will likely begin as an inside linebacker for Indiana.

9:18 a.m.: DaVondre Love is the fourth and final — we think — offensive lineman to sign with this class. Love chose IU over other offers from Syracuse and San Diego State.

9:20 a.m.: Westfield’s Jacob Robinson is the next Hoosier on the board. Robinson, a defensive end, is currently working out with the U.S. Under-19 National Team in preparation for the Feb. 7 International Bowl against Canada. He chose IU over Wisconsin, Purdue and others.

9:21 a.m.: Leon Thornton, a 6-foot-1 receiver from Illinois, is signed. Thornton is the No. 13 prospect in Illinois, according to Rivals, and chose Indiana over the in-state Illini, among others.

9:25: Donavan Hale is now official. The 6-foot-3 athlete is the cousin of fellow IU signee Jonathan Crawford and has an invitation to walk on to Tom Crean’s basketball team as a guard. Hale is without a position at the moment, but will likely get a strong look at receiver.

9:31 a.m.: That’s it for now. All 21 of Indiana’s verbal commits have signed with the Hoosiers, so no surprises yet. Kevin Wilson still has two spots that he can fill today, so we’ll be keeping an eye on any potential developments.
