Sheehey signs with team in France #iubb

After spending much of the last year stateside, Will Sheehey is returning to Europe.

The former Indiana forward recently signed with SO Maritime Boulogne in France’s Pro B League, according to a tweet by his agent, Keith Kreiter of Edge Sports. Sheehey spent this summer with the New Orleans Pelicans’ Las Vegas Summer League team, appearing in two games and scoring 14 points in 25 minutes. His stint in Las Vegas ended early after he suffered a hamstring injury.

Sheehey started last season in Montenegro before joining the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in January. His stint in Fort Wayne lasted only a month before he requested his release and joined the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Sheehey played 17 games between both teams in the D League, averaging 9.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest. He shot 47 percent from the field and 38 percent (15-for-39) from 3-point range.

Last weekend, Sheehey joined former IU teammates Jordan Hulls and Christian Watford in The Tournament, scoring a combined 46 points between both games for Armored Athlete.

“A real team player, with good passing skills, very good outside shooter,” his new coach Germain Castano said in a quote translated from French to English via the team web site.
