Big Ten recognize 18 Hoosiers with academic honors #iufb

The Big Ten recognized 18 Indiana football players with all-conference academic honors on Wednesday, giving coach Kevin Wilson 111 award winners during his five seasons.

Indiana saw 24 payers earn recognition in 2011, 22 in 2012, a school-record 26 in 2013 and 21 in 2014.

Players must be in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a grade point average of 3.0 or better to be eligible for an Academic All-Big Ten selection.

IU’s honorees are Jacob Bailey, Andre Booker, Nate Boudreau, Nick Campos, Michael Cooper, Anthony Corsaro, Nolan Guedel, Shawn Heffern, Arthur Jones, Kyle Loechel, Nick Mangieri, Wes Martin, Jake Reed, Nate Sudfeld, Alex Todd, Erich Toth, Kiante Walton and Garrett Welch.

  1. As nice as it is to see the football team show progress on the field it is even better to see how many excel in the classroom along with on the field. 111 in Coach Wilson’s era says a lot about how hard the players work in the classroom too.
