Hoosiers adding manager Jackson Tharp to active roster #iubb

Indiana will have an extra player on its bench for Saturday’s game at Minnesota.

IU coach Tom Crean has added manager Jackson Tharp to the active roster, effective immediately. Crean told the team on Friday night after the Hoosiers practiced at Williams Arena in Minneapolis.

Tharp, a Zionsville native, has been an undergraduate manager at IU since the 2012-13 season. He played at Zionsville High School, where he earned All-Hoosier Crossroads Conference honors as a junior and senior.

“Jackson has ben an outstanding contributor to our program on many levels,” Crean said in a statement. “He does a great job for us in practice and with the injuries we have had it allows us to add someone who is with us every day and can make a seamless transition to our roster.”

Tharp is a senior majoring in Sports Marketing and Management. He is 6-foot-4, 205 pounds and he’ll wear jersey No. 24.

He is the second manager to dress for the Hoosiers during Tom Crean’s eight years as coach. Mike Santa joined the team at the end of the 2008-09 season.
