Baragar shares Big Ten weekly pitching honor #iubase

He was nearly perfect on Sunday, and by Monday, Caleb Baragar received his due recognition.

The Big Ten named Baragar as its co-Pitcher of the Week, an honor he shares with Maryland’s Brian Shaffer. Baragar took a perfect game into the seventh inning against Toledo on Sunday, allowing only one hit while striking out a career-high 11 strikeouts to go along with two walks. Baragar faced only 27 batters during his eight innings on the mound.

Across his last three starts, Baragar has yielded only eight hits in 21 innings. He’s struck out 23 batters and walked only four. Baragar hasn’t allowed a single run over his last 24 2/3 innings of work.
