Couple notes, observations on IU’s updated roster #iufb

Ahead of the program’s appearance at Tuesday’s Big Ten Media Day in Chicago, Indiana updated its football roster with new jersey numbers, heights and weights for freshmen and returnees.

A couple quick observations:

— Of IU’s 21-man signing class for 2016, all but one are accounted for. Three-star defensive back Brandon Drayton is not listed. According to IU’s online student directory, no one by that name is enrolled in Bloomington.

— Freshmen Tyler Natee and Jonah Morris are both listed as athletes. Keep an eye on both of these guys, Natee especially. He was a 260-pound wild card at Trinity High School in Euless, Texas, where he rushed for 3,000 yards on 337 attempts with 25 touchdowns for his career. He was also a three-time all-district selection, including twice as a quarterback and once as a fullback. Kevin Wilson could have a lot of fun toying with Natee in different packages. Morris, a 6-foot-4 receiver, was graded as a four-star prospect coming out of high school in Akron, Ohio.

— 16 players weigh at least 300 pounds, including 12 on the offensive line. Freshman offensive lineman Mackenzie Nworah is the heaviest man on the team at 335 pounds.

Kevin Wilson is scheduled to take the podium in Chicago beginning around 9:15 a.m. Eastern. We’ll update you then and throughout the day.
