ESPN’s Seth Greenberg to host Hoosier Hysteria

ESPN college basketball analyst Seth Greenberg will host this year’s Hoosier Hysteria on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m.

Doors will open for the event at 5 p.m., and fans who arrive by 6 p.m. will receive this year’s Indiana men’s basketball calendar for free. Greenberg has been with ESPN since 2012, following a 35-year run as a coach. He was a head coach for 22 of those years, with stops at Long Beach State, South Florida and Virginia Tech. During nine seasons with the Hokies, Greenberg won two Atlantic Coast Conference Coach of the Year awards and ended his tenure second in program history with 170 wins.

Last year, he helped with ESPN’s “Behind the Bench” coverage of the Indiana-Illinois game, offering insight on IU coach Tom Crean’s in-game strategy.

“No one does a better job developing players and evaluating players better than Tom,” Greenberg said in a statement. “His passion for the game and his players is second to none. He is committed to helping them reach their potential in everything they do. It should be a great night as both teams are coming off strong showings in last year’s NCAA Tournament with two Big Ten Coaches of the Year in Coach Crean and Coach Teri Moren.”

Admission is free, though fans are encouraged to bring a canned food item to benefit Hoosier Hills Food Bank.

“I can’t express how excited I am to be a small part of Hoosier Hysteria,” Greenberg said. “When I think of Indiana basketball, I think of great tradition, passionate fans and the commitment to doing things the right way. Tom Crean is one of the elite coaches and innovators in college basketball.”

  1. IU football game two weeks ago the TV mouth was talking CTC. Said he is the ultimate X & O coach. Maybe a little extreme.
