IUWBB: Hoosiers will host SMU in WNIT

Southern Methodist prevailed over Abilene Christian on Monday, giving Indiana its opponent for the WNIT’s third round.

SMU (19-14) will travel to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall for Thursday’s 7 p.m. contest.

The Hoosiers (22-10) have hosted all of their games in the WNIT thus far. The winner of Thursday’s game will play either Villanova or James Madison in the round of eight. A date, time and site for that game has yet to be determined.

SMU finished 7-9 in the American Athletic Conference. The Mustangs needed overtime to beat Louisiana Tech in the first round, and they prevailed over Abilene Christian by seven points, 59-52.

IU, on the other hand, has beaten both Ball State and Saint Louis by double digits.

  1. I watched the entire game of SMU vs East Carolina and Froling is as Jenn mentioned like a guard with the ball in her hand. She likes to drive right off the high post. She can even bring the ball up the floor by herself, just remember she is 6′ 5″ tall. They have at least 3 players in that size range. Hopefully our defense will offset some of that size.
