Knight to speak at Bloomington North

Bob Knight is making another return trip to Bloomington.

The former Indiana coach will share stories from his coaching career during an event on March 30 at Bloomington High School North. The program will begin at 7 p.m. and will be moderated by former Herald-Times sports editor Bob Hammel.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by clicking this link. There is a limit of 6 tickets per order, and each person in attendance will receive a limited edition program.

Public appearances by Knight in Bloomington have been rare since his firing as IU coach in 2000. He has given speeches across the state and the Midwest in the meantime, including campaign appearances with President Donald Trump during the past year.

Most recently, Knight appeared in Bloomington for a book signing with Hammel in 2013.

  1. Unless there could be some kind of lawsuit liability IU basketball should start a new tradition. Unless they are a felon, a coach who wins the NCAA tournament should have his or her name displayed on the perimeter or near the middle of the court ten second line. The number of times he or she won championship or dates should be included. Name of court should be adjusted to coaches who win championships. Currently, name of court could be McCracken – Knight Court. Names continue as coaches win championships.
Example : McCracken – Knight – Crean – Moren Court.
