Langford includes IU in final 3

Indiana’s recruitment of Romeo Langford will officially go down to the wire.

Langford, a five-star shooting guard from New Albany, included IU, Kansas and Vanderbilt on the list of finalists he announced on Saturday afternoon. Langford had also been considering North Carolina and UCLA.

Vanderbilt is also in heavy consideration for five-star point guard Darius Garland, who will announce his commitment on Monday, per Scout.com’s Evan Daniels. Garland, who attended Hoosier Hysteria with Langford, will choose from a list that includes IU, Vanderbilt, UCLA and Kentucky.

Langford is reportedly not expected to commit during the early signing period, which runs through Wednesday.

New Albany will play at Bloomington South on Nov. 25.

    1. I don’t have a problem recruiting a one and done every few years. Just don’t make a habit of it. A guy like that can have an immediate impact and can carry a team deep in the tourney. As a result that helps recruiting. In this day of college basketball you have to go after these guys. Besides, who wouldn’t want to be like Duke and go to the final four every other year. I would bet a lot of IU fans would take that right now even if it meant getting a one and done every year.

  1. I believe Garland is going to announce his college choice Monday, that may be a factor in Romeo’s choice. After Friday’s I U loss and the poor guard play, both Garland and Romeo would fill a major void in the starting lineup. Vandy, Kansas and I U may feel like three high school girls being strung along until late Spring before one is chosen as the prom date.

  2. Yeah, why recruit him? I don’t want to be a KY or Duke and contend for titles every year and be relevant. I just want to struggle to beat Howard at home, lose in the first round of the NIT, get embarrassed at HOME to Indiana State. Lol morons.
