Lillard, Gutman named All-Americans #iums

The Indiana University men’s soccer duo of Grant Lillard and Andrew Gutman received All-America honors from the United Soccer Coaches on Thursday.

Lillard, a senior, was named a first team All-American, while Gutman, a junior, claimed second team honors.

Last season, Lillard was named a second team All-American by both Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News. This is the first career All-American honor for Gutman.

A total of 41 IU players have now garnered a total of 69 All-American honors as a Hoosiers, and Lillard is the 16th player to earn All-American honors in more than one season.

Lillard and Gutman, both products of Hinsdale, Ill., have helped anchor an Indiana back line that leads the NCAA in shutouts (17), goals allowed (6) and goals-against average (.242).

Offensively, Gutman has a career-high six goals and four assists, while Lillard tallied two goals and two assists.

Indiana takes on North Carolina Friday at 8:45 p.m. in the College Cup semifinals at Talen Energy Stadium in Philadelphia.
