Hoosiers climb in national rankings

A perfect four-game run last week boosted the Hoosiers in every major national poll.

Now, entering another big week of in-state matchups, Indiana is approaching top 10 status across the board.

D1Baseball.com ranked IU as high as No. 10 in the country in its latest poll released Monday. That’s a bump of one spot from last week.

The Hoosiers saw their largest jump in Perfect Game’s rankings, going from No. 18 to No. 12 this week. IU saw a five-spot jump in the USA Today Coaches poll, moving from No. 16 to No. 11.

Indiana also enjoyed a four-spot bump in Collegiate Baseball’s latest poll, opening this week at No. 13. Baseball America ranks IU at No. 16, giving the Hoosiers a two-spot jump from last week.

IU also received good news with the RPI, where it begins the week at No. 18, according to warrennolan.com.

After a Tuesday afternoon contest at Ball State, Indiana will host Purdue in a three-game weekend series at Bart Kaufman Field.
