Hoosiers drop from Baseball America, D1Baseball.com polls

A winless week of baseball has dropped Indiana from all but one major poll.

After getting swept at Minnesota over the weekend, IU fell out of the weekly polls at Baseball America and D1Baseball.com. The Hoosiers also dropped out of the USA Today Coaches Poll.

Heading into Minneapolis, Indiana was ranked at No. 18 by Baseball America and No. 15 at D1Baseball.com. The Hoosiers were also tabbed at No. 17 in the USA Today poll.

Perfect Game’s top 25 is the only poll where the Hoosiers remain this week. There, IU fell seven spots to No 19.

The Hoosiers host Kentucky on Tuesday at Bart Kaufman Field before hitting the road for three games at Nebraska this weekend.

  1. The best teams are OSU and Minny. We played them back to back. I can’t explain the hitting woes though. Kentucky will be a great test for them and hopefully get going again. This is just baseball. It just comes down to timely hitting, good pitching and just playing not to lose. They were so tight in the final game against Minny. Let’s get it going again. Just have fun. This is still a really good team.

    1. Having to play both of them on the road didn’t help either. Would have liked to see them win at least one at Minnesota. It will be interesting how everything will shake out in the B1G tournament.
