Justus lands on All-Big Ten 2nd team

Indiana’s run of all-conference kickers continues.

A consistent fall on special teams earned kicker Logan Justus earned All-Big Ten second team honors, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Justus follows in the footsteps of two-time Bakken-Andersen Kicker of the Year Griffin Oakes, who landed the honor in 2015 and 2017. Former Hoosier Mitch Ewald also collected second team recognition in 2013.

One of 20 semifinalists for the Lou Groza Award, Justus finished the campaign 15-for-18 on field goals (83.3 percent) and 32-for-33 on extra points. His 15 makes share eighth in school history. League coaches voted him to the second team.

The left-footer, who also picked up third team honors from the media, concluded the regular season third in the Big Ten in percentage and tied for fourth in field goals made.

In league games only, Justus was 13-of-15 (86.7 precent) on field goals and 20-for-20 on extra points. The McCordsville native shared the second spot in field goals, was second in percentage and seventh among league kickers in scoring (6.6 points per game).

In addition to Justus, return specialist J-Shun Harris, safety Jonathan Crawford and hybrid safety Marcelino Ball each picked up honorable mention recognition from league coaches and media.
