Gameday central: Northwestern at Indiana

After a lopsided loss at Duke in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, Indiana returns home to open conference season.

The Hoosiers host Northwestern in a Saturday matinee that represents a chance for IU to get off to a good start in Big Ten play before Tuesday’s trip to Penn State.

Indiana continues to get healthier, with Devonte Green and Zach McRoberts each continuing to take on larger roles inside of IU’s rotation.

The Hoosiers will face a Wildcats team rated No. 46 in the KenPom database. Northwestern has won each of its past three games, including its ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchup with Georgia Tech. Northwestern is playing five new guys inside of its top seven. It’s a long, big team that initiates its offense off the wings.

“In my opinion, this is a very tough-minded group,” IU coach Archie Miller said. “They’re playing well and I expect this to be a hard-fought game.”
