Gameday central: Indiana at Illinois

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Indiana will go for a season sweep of Illinois tonight at the State Farm Center.

More importantly, the Hoosiers will try to keep their push for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament on track. It’s a must-win game for IU, which topped the Illini 73-65 in the first meeting at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

IU has won two in a row, with ranked victories over No. 19 Wisconsin and No. 6 Michigan State last week.

“We’ve got to approach things the same way we’ve been approaching things,” IU coach Archie Miller said. “I think everyone understands that there’s a lot to play for for a lot of teams, but we’ve had a lot to play for for a long time now, and being able to get up off the mat last week and get two big wins was great to see that we’re still right there in terms of our disposition and what we’re playing for and the focus of our group. It won’t be any different this week.”

After scoring a career-high 24 points in the win over the Spartans, Justin Smith will remain in the starting lineup.
