NCAA’s decision on Tuttle could come soon

Indiana coach Tom Allen is still waiting. Quarterback Jack Tuttle is being patient, too.

There’s still no word from the NCAA on Tuttle’s application for immediate eligibility this fall, Allen told reporters this week. IU submitted a waiver on behalf of the Utah transfer shortly after he enrolled at Indiana for the spring semester in January, and, as expected, a ruling has taken time to arrive.

Tuttle spent only half of his freshman season at Utah last fall before leaving the program in October. He’s currently sharing reps with returning starter Peyton Ramsey during IU’s spring practices.

Allen said he believes the program could receive a response from the NCAA in the coming days.

“We don’t ever know for sure, but I would assume here in the next week or so, based on when everything was turned in,” Allen said. “Hopefully, we’ll get some closure on that, either way.”

  1. I smell rats, and that odor is coming from the NCAA Headquarters. No way it should take this long.

  2. If Tate Martell was ruled eligible, then you’d would have to think Tuttle’s chances are around 99% right?
