IU officially announces 2020 trip to Maui

The Hoosiers are going back to paradise.

Indiana officially announced Thursday that it will participate in the 2020 Maui Invitational, playing in a field that includes North Carolina, Alabama, Davidson, Providence, Stanford, Texas and UNLV.

Thursday’s announcement comes as expected. During a pre-tournament pep rally during IU’s last trip to Maui in November 2015, former IU coach Crean revealed that Indiana was already scheduled to return in 2020.

Now those dates are officially locked in. The 37th installment of the tournament will be played Nov. 23-25, 2020.

For the Hoosiers, it will be their seventh appearance in the Maui field. The last trip was a sour one, featuring losses to Wake Forest and UNLV sandwiched around a win over St. John’s.

IU won the Maui Invitational in 2002.
