Morgan inks ‘Exhibit 10’ deal with Jazz

Juwan Morgan’s run with the Utah Jazz will last at least a little bit longer.

Morgan, who played summer league with the Jazz after going undrafted in June, has agreed to an “Exhibit 10” deal with the organization, according to The Athletic.

The “Exhibit 10” deal extends Morgan into training camp, though his deal will eventually work one of two ways. It can be converted into a two-way contract, which allows him to play a certain number of games with the Jazz, as well as the team’s G-League affiliate. If a player on an “Exhibit 10” deal is waived, he can sign with the club’s G-League squad for a bonus of up to $50,000, which is more than a player at that level is normally paid.

To get that bonus money, Morgan would have to stay with that G-League affiliate for 60 days. Basically, “Exhibit 10” contracts create an incentive for players to stay with G-League clubs rather than head overseas immediately.

Morgan, a 6-foot-8 forward, averaged 6.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for Utah’s summer league team in Las Vegas.
