Westbrook a Campbell Trophy semifinalist

Indiana’s Nick Westbrook has been recognized again for his work off the field.

The fifth-year wide receiver, who is already on the Wuerffel Trophy watch list, has been named a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which recognizes the nation’s best football scholar-athlete. The award combines “academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.”

The National Football Foundation will announce 12-14 finalists on Oct. 30. Each will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as part of the 2019 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class. Those selected will travel to New York City for the 62nd NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 10, where the winner will be announced. The recipient of the Campbell Trophy has their postgraduate scholarship increased to $25,000.

A three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Westbrook also remains on the Senior Bowl Watch List. He was a preseason candidate for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.
