Justus a nominee for Burlsworth Trophy

Indiana senior Logan Justus is a nominee for the Burlsworth Trophy, given to the nation’s most outstanding player whose career started as a walk-on.

Justus, who was one of 20 semifinalists for the 2018 Lou Groza Award, is one of seven kickers in Division I to hit all of his field goal attempts in 2019. He’s IU’s all-time field goal percentage, with a perfect 12-of-12 so far this season.

His 12 straight field goals are second only in IU program history to Austin Starr’s 15 in 2007.

Justus is again on this year’s Groza watch list. The Burlsworth Trophy is named after former Arkansas walk-on Brandon Burlsworth, who joined the Razorback program in 1994.

The Brandon Burlsworth Foundation will host an awards ceremony on Dec. 9 in Springdale, Ark., to honor three finalists and announce the 2019 winner.
