Patberg on Ann Meyers Drysdale Award watch list

Indiana women’s basketball redshirt junior guard Ali Patberg was named to the initial 35-player watch list for the 2019-20 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award on Thursday, as announced by the U.S. Basketball Writers’ Association.

Patberg is averaging 12.4 points and a Big Ten-leading 5.5 assists per game to go along with 5.5 rebounds for the No. 14 Hoosiers (7-1). In addition to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, Patberg is on the watch list for the Nancy Lieberman Award, Wooden Award and Naismith Trophy. She is also a preseason All-Big Ten honoree.

Members of the U.S. Basketball Writers’ Association board of directors choose the players to be included on the Drysdale Award list. The winner will be announced at the 2020 NCAA Women’s Final Four in New Orleans.

  1. Very cool honor for Ali. She is certainly an outstanding representative for IU women’s basketball. BTW, now that the University has awarded the football coach an extended contract, ITS TIME TO SIGN TERRI MOREN TO AN EXTENDED CONTRACT!! Her accomplishments in her six years here are much better than Allen’s if anyone were to ask! She wins 20 or more games every year and recruits at a high level, I wonder what the administration is waiting on?? Go Hoosiers!!

  2. Well said Mike c– Moren has brought this program out of the cellar dwelling status to a place it has never seen before and may go even higher. Its possible this team could win the B1G and a second coach of the year honor. With that said and no contract there are plenty of schools out there watching, waiting, and willing to bring in and pay Moren what she deserves if IU does not. Its time for the IU Brass to step up to the plate and hit the grand slam.
