Both Indiana’s men’s and women’s basketball programs are losing an upcoming game due to COVID-19 issues with their opponents.
The men were scheduled to travel to Michigan State for a Sunday contest, but that is postponed because of COVID-19 issues at MSU. The women were supposed to host Rutgers on Monday.
IU’s men’s team will now have a week off between games. The Hoosiers face Purdue tonight at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, and they travel to Iowa next Thursday.
IU’s women’s team has the same setup, facing Purdue in West Lafayette before traveling to Michigan State next Thursday.
As the men’s and women’s releases both stated, the conference will look to reschedule both contests.
More time for IU’s dinged up players to rest and recuperate.
Who is hurt other than Penn?
How in the world can all these postponed games be made up?
I assume they cannot extend the season as that will run in to the big ten tournament.
So they only way would be to add a game and reduce days off between games.
We are fairly deep, tho the starters usually play most of the minutes, so it might help us.
If MSU boys just cancelled, it may mean the MSU ladies game with us may be at risk.
Exactly Mich vs Mich State was ppd so the womens game thurs could be nixed, and whos to say the NW game on sunday wont also be nixed. These upcoming games are needed for IU as they are in the top half of the conf. and will be tougher matchups, IU needs to see where they truly stand in the conf.
