Thursday’s IU football practice postponed, Saturday up in the air

Indiana football has postponed its Thursday spring practice “out of an abundance of caution,” according to a spokesperson.

IU is offering no details beyond that, including whether it’s related to COVID-19, only saying that Thursday’s practice would not happen and “no decision has been made on Saturday’s practice at this time.”

IU opened spring practice on March 9 and had no interruptions up until this point.

Last spring, IU football was only able to get in four practices before all athletic activities were shut down by the COVID-19 pandemic.

  1. IU doesn’t say it is COVID but the code words “out of an abundance of caution” make it clear someone, not necessarily a player, tested positive. IU should be able to get it under control quickly unless it came about because of a gathering and a number tested positive.

I hope it clears up quickly and IU can get back to practice preparing for the 2021 season.

  2. An official statement that says nothing! Whom is IU afraid might get real information? There are no games until September 2021!
